Use of Personal Devices for Work
Overview At times, employees may need to access Crosspoint systems using a personal device (phone, tablet, or computer). While this is permitted when necessary, it must be done in a way that protects church data, systems, and confidentiality.
When Personal Devices May Be Used
Personal devices may be used for:
- Accessing email (Outlook)
- Viewing or editing documents in OneDrive or SharePoint
- Attending Microsoft Teams meetings
- Urgent or remote work situations when a church-issued device is not available
Requirements for Use
When using a personal device, the following expectations apply:
- Only approved systems may be used (Microsoft 365: Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint)
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) must be enabled
- Devices should be protected with a passcode, password, or biometric lock
- Public or shared computers should not be used to access sensitive information
- Files must not be downloaded and stored locally on personal devices
What Is Not Permitted
- Storing Crosspoint files permanently on personal devices
- Using personal email accounts for church business
- Transferring files to unapproved platforms (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, etc.)
- Sharing devices with others while logged into Crosspoint systems
Separation or Device Change
At the time of role change or separation:
- Access to all systems will be removed
- Any locally stored data related to Crosspoint must be deleted immediately
