When an Employee Leaves: Document Ownership & Access

All documents, files, and materials created, received, or stored in the course of employment at Crosspoint Church are considered organizational property. These items must remain within Crosspoint’s systems (OneDrive, SharePoint, and other approved platforms) upon an employee’s departure.

Employees are welcome to retain copies of non-confidential materials for personal reference, provided:

  • The information does not contain sensitive, confidential, or proprietary data
  • It does not include member information, financial data, personnel records, or internal communications
  • It aligns with all confidentiality expectations and policies 

Access to Crosspoint systems will be removed at the time of separation. It is the responsibility of the employee and their supervisor to ensure all work-related documents are properly stored in the appropriate shared locations prior to departure.

This approach ensures continuity, protects organizational integrity, and maintains proper stewardship of all information entrusted to Crosspoint Church.
