Cybersecurity Incident Reporting
What to Do When Something Isn’t Right
Cybersecurity incidents can happen quickly—and how we respond in the first few minutes matters. If you see something unusual or believe information may be at risk, act immediately.
What Should Be Reported
Report any of the following without delay:
- Suspicious login activity
- Unexpected login alerts, unfamiliar locations, or password reset emails you did not request
- Malware or security warnings
- Pop-ups, antivirus alerts, or messages indicating a potential infection
- Accidental data sharing
- Sending sensitive information to the wrong person or sharing files unintentionally
- Lost or stolen devices
- Phones, laptops, or tablets that have access to Crosspoint systems
Immediate Action Steps
- Stop what you’re doing
- Do not continue working on the device or system if something seems compromised.
- Disconnect if necessary
- If you suspect malware or unauthorized access, disconnect from Wi-Fi or unplug from the network.
- Secure your account
- Change your password immediately if there is any chance your account is compromised.
- Report it right away
- Contact the IT team immediately:
- 📧 it@crosspoint.church
Why This Matters
Quick reporting allows the IT team to:
- Contain potential threats before they spread
- Protect sensitive ministry and personal data
- Maintain the integrity of Crosspoint systems
Delays in reporting can increase risk and impact.
Final Reminder
When in doubt, report it. It is always better to raise a concern early than to assume everything is fine.
