Personal Files on Work Computers
Overview Work-issued computers are provided to support the mission and operations of Crosspoint Church. While limited personal file storage may occur, it is not recommended and should be handled with clear boundaries and understanding of expectations.
Guidelines
- Avoid storing personal files locally on your work computer whenever possible.
- If personal files must be stored temporarily, ensure they are minimal, appropriate, and do not interfere with work responsibilities or system performance.
- At the time of separation, all personal files must be promptly removed from the device. Crosspoint Church is not responsible for retaining or recovering personal data.
Recommended Approach
- Use a personal cloud storage solution (e.g., personal OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.) for any non-work-related files.
- Personal storage platforms may be connected to your work computer only with prior approval from the IT department.
Important Distinction
- All Crosspoint Church files must be stored exclusively within Crosspoint-approved systems, including OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Church-related documents, data, and communications should never be stored outside of these systems.
Why This Matters
Maintaining a clear separation between personal and organizational data protects:
- The integrity and security of Crosspoint systems
- Compliance with data management standards
- A smooth and efficient transition during role changes or separation
