Refund Policy (Tithes and Offerings)
To provide clear guidance on how Crosspoint handles requests for refunds related to tithes and offerings. Tithes and offerings are given as voluntary contributions to support the mission and ministry of Crosspoint. Because these gifts are made freely and are often used promptly for ministry purposes, they are generally non-refundable.
Key Principles
- All donations are considered final once processed.
- Contributions are used to further the mission, ministry operations, and outreach efforts of Crosspoint.
- Stewardship of these funds is taken seriously and handled with integrity and accountability.
Exceptions Refunds may be considered only in limited circumstances, such as:
- Duplicate transactions
- Processing errors (e.g., incorrect amount entered)
- Unauthorized transactions
All exception requests must be reviewed and approved by the Accounting Team.
Year-End Consideration
If a donation crosses calendar years (i.e., a prior tax year has closed), Crosspoint is unable to issue a refund due to tax and reporting implications. Exceptions may only be made with explicit approval from the Lead Pastor and legal counsel.
Refund Method Requirements
- Any approved refund must be issued in the same form as the original payment.
- Credit card donations must be refunded back to the original credit card.
- Refunds may only be processed after the original transaction has fully cleared through the banking or payment processing system.
- This applies to all forms of payment (ACH, checks, cash equivalents, etc.) to ensure proper financial controls and reconciliation.
Request Process
- Refund requests must be submitted within 10 business days of the transaction.
- Requests should include:
- Donor name
- Date of transaction
- Amount
- Reason for request
- Submit all requests to the Accounting team for review.
Final Determination All refund decisions are made at the discretion of Crosspoint leadership and the Accounting team, with a commitment to both financial integrity and pastoral care.
Closing Perspective Every dollar given to Crosspoint is entrusted to us for ministry impact. We honor that trust by stewarding resources wisely, transparently, and in alignment with our mission.
