2. Operations Guiding Principles

The Operations Team operates according to several core principles that shape how we serve the church.

Ministry First

Operations exists to support ministry. Every system, process, and decision should ultimately serve the mission and the people of Crosspoint.

Stewardship

We faithfully steward the financial, physical, and technological resources entrusted to the church.

Excellence

We pursue operational excellence so ministries can focus on people rather than problems.

Safety and Responsibility

We create safe, secure, and responsible environments for those who gather at Crosspoint.

Servant Leadership

Operations serves the church by anticipating needs, solving problems, and supporting leaders and volunteers.

Long-Term Thinking

We make decisions that strengthen Crosspoint not just today, but for future generations.

3. Organizational Structure

The Operations Team and Human Relations Team work together to support the organizational health and effectiveness of Crosspoint.

Operations

Responsible for the systems, infrastructure, and operational support of the church.

Areas include:

·        Accounting / Finance

·        Information Technology

·        Facilities

·        Grounds

·        Safety and Security

·        Insurance and Liability

·        Operational Administration

·        Human Resources

Human Relations

Together, Operations and Human Relations ensure Crosspoint has both the systems, and the people support necessary to fulfill its mission.

4. Operations Philosophy

The Operations Team exists to make ministry possible. While ministry teams focus on people and discipleship, Operations focuses on creating the systems, environments, and resources that allow those ministries to thrive.

Our philosophy is built on several key commitments:

Ministry Enablement

Operations works behind the scenes so ministries can focus on people. Our goal is to remove operational barriers and provide the tools, environments, and systems needed for effective ministry.

Stewardship with Accountability

The resources entrusted to Crosspoint—financial, physical, and technological—are gifts that must be stewarded with wisdom, integrity, and transparency. Operations ensures responsible management and accountability across all operational areas.

Systems that Scale the Mission

As Crosspoint grows, the systems that support the church must grow as well. Operations develops processes and infrastructure that allow ministries to expand without losing effectiveness or clarity.

Proactive Problem Solving

Rather than simply responding to issues, Operations works to anticipate needs, identify risks, and implement solutions before problems impact ministry.

Partnership with Ministry Leaders

Operations is not separate from ministry—it is a partner to ministry. We work alongside pastors and ministry leaders to ensure operational support aligns with the needs and vision of the church.

4. What Operations Is – and What Operations Is Not

Clear expectations help the church operate effectively. The Operations Team provides support and leadership in many areas, but it does not replace the leadership or responsibilities of ministry teams.

Operations Is

The steward of the church’s financial, physical, and operational resources

·        The team responsible for systems, processes, and infrastructure

·        A support partner to ministries and campuses

·        A leader in risk management, safety, and responsible stewardship

·        A team that creates environments where ministry can flourish

Operations Is Not

Operations Is Not

·        The decision-maker for ministry strategy or programming

·        Responsible for leading ministry teams or spiritual formation initiatives

·        A replacement for ministry leadership responsibility

·        A barrier to ministry innovation or creativity

Instead, Operations works collaboratively with ministry leaders, campus pastors, to ensure that vision-driven ministry can happen effectively, responsibly, and sustainably.
