Certificates of Insurance (COI)


For Offsite Events, Rentals, and Private Property

  • If your ministry event is off Crosspoint property, or you're renting a facility or equipment, you may need a Certificate of Insurance (COI). A COI verifies Crosspoint's general liability insurance and is often required by venues, rental companies, or if a property owner requests a certificate of insurance—including church members who host official ministry events.


When a COI May Be Required

  • Offsite ministry events or meetings
  • Private homes or property
  • Rented facilities
  • Equipment rentals (non-vehicle)
  • Long-term facility leases


If the property isn't owned by Crosspoint, assume a COI may be needed.


Important

  • A COI reflects Crosspoint's general liability coverage only. It does not provide coverage for water-related activities, including:
  • Swimming pools
  • Lakes, bays, or the ocean
  • Boating or personal watercraft


Request a COI

  • Before submitting your request, have:
  • Property owner or company name and contact information
  • Event date and time
  • Agreement or contract (including insurance requirements)

Timing

  • Submit requests at least one week in advance.
  • Processing typically takes 2–3 business days.
  • This version keeps everything most ministry leaders need to know while eliminating extra explanation. It's concise enough that someone can quickly determine whether they need a COI, what it covers, what it doesn't, and how to request one.
