Overview Crosspoint Church accepts non-cash donations including vehicles, boats, land, furniture, and other physical items. These gifts can be a valuable resource for ministry when handled with clarity and proper expectations.

Donation Guidelines

1. Types of Donations

  • Vehicles, Boats, and Land
  • Must be coordinated directly with the Director of Operations prior to acceptance.
  • Furniture and Other Items
  • Items should be in good, usable condition and reflect a standard of excellence. Donations should align with ministry needs and stewardship values. 

Donor Expectations and Agreement

Before accepting any non-cash donation, it is critical that the donor clearly understands and agrees to the following:

  • The donation becomes the full property of Crosspoint Church upon receipt.
  • The church retains complete discretion over the use of the item.
  • This includes the right to:
  • Use the item for ministry purposes
  • Reallocate to another campus or department
  • Sell the item
  • Donate the item to another organization
  • Dispose of the item if it is not usable 

Best Practice

Whenever possible, obtain written acknowledgment from the donor confirming:

  • The item is being given as a donation
  • No conditions or ongoing control are attached
  • Ownership and decision-making transfer fully to Crosspoint Church 

Operational Considerations

  • Donations that come with restrictions, expectations of control, or ongoing involvement from the donor should not be accepted.
  • Accepting conditional gifts creates operational inefficiencies and can lead to future conflict.
  • Clear communication upfront protects both the donor relationship and the integrity of church operations. 

Stewardship Standard

All accepted donations should reflect the principle of honoring God with excellence. Items that are broken, outdated, or not aligned with ministry needs should be respectfully declined.
